$32.5 / 14 MLS teams = Priceless

While most of America is talking about the BCS and squabbling over computer polls, I wanted to bring you something that I think is missing from the headlines.

David Beckham helped lead the LA Galaxy to his first MLS title on Sunday but refused to be drawn on his future with his contract soon to run out.

Beckham's five-year contract with the Galaxy finishes after an upcoming Asian end-of-season tour but he has not ruled out signing a new deal with the club despite interest from big-spending French side Paris St Germain and English teams.";

But it was Landon Donovan, an American-born soccer legend, that put the ball in the net for the LA Galaxy.

Beckham to Keane,
Keane to Donovan!
... GOAL!!!

Having watched Beckham over 5 years, I can tell you that he is worth every penny. And we may still owe him a debt of gratitude. After bringing over $600m to Real Madrid, he chose to come to the US for $32.5m, not including endorsements. He has played the game with fierce competitiveness and outstanding sportsmanship.

Today, the MLS beats both the NBA and NHL is ticket sales.

And, as Beckham prepares to deservingly ride off into the sunset, let's thank him for bringing attention to the MLS, but at the same time, we need to look forward to the future of American Soccer. And, that's what Beckham has given- a future. Remember, this isn't English Football. This is American Soccer! We've made it our own. We are shaping it to fit our wants and tastes.";
echo 'A new generation of heroes.

And, that is priceless.
