Leonardo da Vinci was the first to suggest using contact lenses to see back in 1508 in Codex of the eye, Manual D, where he described a method of directly altering corneal power by submerging the eye in a bowl of water.

But who cares???

The big news is that researchers at the University of Washington recently presented the design, construction and in vivo rabbit testing of a wirelessly powered contact lens display to the Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering.

Yeah, they tested it on a rabbit- a live rabbit... and that begs the question: Why not me???

Pick me! Test it on me! I WANT IT!

More info

I have been following this story for quite some time. I'm a futurist. I'm waiting for the technological singularity. In fact, the first Q that I ever published was

When man transcends biology

We're getting there.

It reminds me of The Big Bang Theory's season 4, episode 2, The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification." Just like Sheldon, I'm going through a health craze for the same reason. I have a genetic heart condition, and I've recently begun jogging. If I can make it to the singularity, I will transcend my heart condition.

My wife calls it a midlife crisis, but how can it be my midlife when my life will be indefinitely extended once mankind reaches the singularity? Ha! She just got nerd pwned!

My point is: The singularity is within reach!

So, what are you going to want for your 300th birthday? I think I'll want a puppy!
